Design copyright protects the “shape, configuration, pattern or ornament of an article or features of pattern or ornament applicable to articles in so far as such features appeal to and are judged solely by the eye”
[section 30 of the Industrial Property Act of 1965].
The total period of protection is 15 years – this equates to three periods of 5 years (prescribed fees are payable prior to the expiration of each 5 year term).

Mary C. Katina Mosko was called to the Bar of England and Wales in October 1977 (Inner Temple) and the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in February 1978. Although called to the Bar as a Barrister, the legal profession is fused in The Bahamas, and she has continually practiced since 1977 as Counsel and Attorney-at-Law.
Katina is a member of the Bahamian Bar, International Bar Association. She has also served on The Bahamas Bar Ethics Committee for many years, and is a member of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce.

NATASHA NEELY-CHARLES
Senior IP Legal Assistant
Natasha has been a part of Mosko & Associates for more than 25 years and has the benefit of considerable experience and knowledge that she has gained in IP. Natasha assesses incoming and outgoing communications for deadlines and manages attorney deadlines. Natasha assists attorneys in all areas of Intellectual Property (Trade Marks, Patents, Design copyrights and
Domain Name applications).
Her primary duties involve, evaluating clearance searches, prosecution of trademark and patent applications, drafting documents and preparing communications to The Bahamas Trademark and Patent Office. Natasha holds a Diploma in Law, AA Paralegal and AA in Business Management.
DENRICA HANNA
IP Administrative Assistant
Denrica has nine years’ experience in IP and fulfils the duties of an IP Administrative Assistant with the firm. Her responsibilities include assisting with the preparation for Trade Mark and Patent applications and filing the applications as well as following up on searches at the IP Registry Office.
Additionally, Denrica is responsible for management of the diary system and
electronic record keeping, including the recording of new trademark and patent applications, updates and setting up new client files. Denrica also supports the work effort of the attorneys.
TANIA J. MOSKO
Administrative Assistant
Tania joined Mosko & Associates in September 2012 and fulfills the role of Administrative Assistant. Tania’s IP responsibilities include: responding to status inquiries for ongoing matters, preparing IP reports and analyses of trademark titles, as well as the processing and management of Registration Certificates. Tania also brings with her computer skills not just for internet searches involving opposition matters.
In respect of Corporate Administration, Tania’s responsibilities include: compliance with corporate legal and regulatory requirements and the maintenance and update of the statutory records. Tania is also responsible for Bahamas VAT reporting.
BRENTISHA STUBBS
Clerical Assistant
Brentisha joined the firm in 2019 as a part-time clerical assistant. Her daily roles and duties involve a wide range of tasks including scanning, filing and assisting with processing of the post and courier packages. Brentisha helps to facilitate the smooth running of the office as she supports all members of the team. Brentisha holds BBA – Accounting.
